Wheatland, MO. (5/16/26) - Jack Wagner would use precision and patience to capture the opening round of the Road to the Hockett at Lucas Oil Speedway with the POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League, leading the final seven laps to earn his sixth career league feature victory and first series win of the 2026 season.
Clashing in Round One of the Road to the Hockett, POWRi WAR would find Wesley Smith set the quickest qualifying lap of the evening with a time of 15.148 seconds as Wesley Smith and Samuel Wagner each earned heat race victories.
Launching the feature field with high-point qualifier Wesley Smith and Samuel Wagner on the front row, Wesley Smith would gain the advantage on the opening lap with Samuel Wagner quickly settling into the runner-up position.
Charging to the lead on lap three, Wyatt Burks would control the next eleven circuits as intense battles throughout the field developed behind the leader with Wesley Smith, Samuel Wagner, Jack Wagner, and Blake Bowers all battling inside the top five.
Methodically working toward the front, Jack Wagner would make the winning move with seven laps remaining and never look back, driving to victory in the opening round of the Road to the Hockett with the POWRi WAR Sprint League. Wesley Smith would slide back into the runner-up spot on the final lap while Wyatt Burks rounded out the podium finishers in third.
Chase Howard would charge through the field to finish fourth and earn hard-charger honors as Bryson Smith completed the top-five finishers at Lucas Oil Speedway with the POWRi WAR Sprint League.
