POWRi Champion Bryant Weideman Invited to Chili Bowl Vacuworx Race of Champions

Belleville, IL. (1/6/22) Packing a portion of the honored pedigree for the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League Points Champion entails an automatic entry into the Vacuworx Race of Champions held annually during Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Winning the League accolades in 2021, Bryant Weideman, of Colby Kansas, will become the youngest driver to compete in the special race during Monday’s Cummins Qualifying Night.

Chili Bowl officials have altered the scheduled fifteen drivers qualified to partake in the 14th Annual Vacuworx Race of Champions, extending the lineup by three additional entries. “We changed up the VIROC, and adjusted the qualification standards in 2020, we said then that we would adjust if we saw a need, and we are taking the opportunity to change up and add drivers that deserve to be in the Race of Champions,” explained Chili Bowl Director Matt Ward.

Additionally, 2020 NASCAR Champion Chase Elliott, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion Tim McCreadie, and the five-time Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals Winner Sammy Swindell have been added to the already stacked with talent entry-list.

Complete list of drivers to be invited to compete in the VIROC include:
Bryant Weideman – POWRi National Midget League Champion
Blake Hahn – ASCS National Tour Champion
Brad Sweet – World of Outlaw Sprint Car Champion
Brady Bacon – USAC Sprint Car Champion
Buddy Kofoid – USAC National Midget Champion
Cannon McIntosh – 2021 Monday Night Winner
Chad Boat – 2018 VIROC Champion
Chase Elliott – 2020 NASCAR Champion
Christopher Bell – Chili Bowl Nationals Champion (2017, 2018, & 2019)
Daryn Pittman – 2017 Chili Bowl Nationals Runner-Up
Justin Grant – 2021 Friday Night Winner
Kyle Larson – Chili Bowl Nationals Champion (2020 & 2021)
Rico Abreu – 2020 VIROC Champion
Sammy Swindell – 5x Chili Bowl Nationals Champion
Spencer Bayston – 3rd 2018 Chili Bowl Nationals
Tanner Thorson – 3rd 2021 Chili Bowl Nationals
Tim McCreadie – 2021 Lucas Oil Late Model & Previous Chili Bowl Nationals Champion
Tyler Courtney – 2021 All-Star Circuit of Champions Champion

The starting lineup for Monday Cummins Qualifying Night’s 14th Annual Vacuworx Invitations Race Of Champions will be set by group qualifying after drivers draw for their qualifying position in groups of three-to-four. Drivers will get a pair of warmup laps, then three green flag las to set their best time. The top-eight fastest drivers will be inverted with the ninth fastest on back lined straight-up based on times. The VIROC feature event will be twenty-five laps of intense competition.
